“Gee-Dad’s under threat of extinction in 2019!”
Hi there! My name is Drayton Morley. My kids go to Caralee Community School, and I’m hoping to become a Gee-Dad! But I need your help…Under the auspices of the fantastic “Fathering Project”, the Gee-Dads have been operating for the last few years out of Caralee Community School, providing school dads and father figures, and their children, with fantastic opportunities to spend quality social time with each other and other dads and their kids! They have also provided support to fundraising activities for the school.Sadly in 2019, the Gee-Dads are fighting to survive. The amazing Matt Shaw has had to step away from the incredible help he has offered the Gee-Dads since it started up. Onya Matt! Now, we need new blood!I want to be a Gee-Dad, but I cannot do it alone. So, I am looking for two other dads/father figures to join me as the new organising “Gee-dudes” for the remainder of 2019, and hopefully beyond. It is not a huge commitment by any means. Historically, the Gee-Dads have organised one social event each term. They have also helped out at fund-raising events for Caralee School, such as cooking the snags at sausage sizzles. This is what we would be aiming for in the future. If there are three of us organising it together, it will be a push-over!If we cannot find two other dads to be my amigos in this great cause, sadly the Gee-Dads will have to cease functioning for at least the remainder of the year. So…if you like hanging out with other dads, and want to spend some quality time with your kids and have a whole lot of FUN supporting our great school…please contact me.Let’s save the Gee-Dads! Together we can do this…Cheers,

"The kids and I had a great day at the 'Grand Farming Experience” on the 27th of October. Big thanks to Derek and Sue for taking their time to show the kids around the farm.Highlight for the boys was getting to see the Alpacas up close!Hard part was explaining why we couldn't have one as a pet in Willagee!Big thanks again to Matt for driving The Fathering Project initiative, and giving me the opportunity to spend some quality one-on-one time with my kids, meeting other fathers and for our kids to meet and interact with others from the school!"Grant White (Year 1 & Kindy 2018 Dad)
In 2017, our Champion Dads of Caralee formed a group (renamed the "Gee Dads"), and commenced a program of activities with fellow male parents and father figures within our school.More information regarding the program, how it can help you, your child, our school and the wider community will appear here regularly. If you are a parent/guardian at Caralee CS, and wish to become part of the 'Gee Dads', please call the office on (08) 9312 4800, or email the school Caralee.CS@education.wa.edu.au Want to know more about The Fathering Project and receive weekly tips?Visit thefatheringproject.org.
