In Art this term we have been continuing to complete some of our projects. D1 have almost completed all of their peacock calendar boards and we will be glossing them soon. They look fantastic! Some students have been busy working with Sam on our “Upcycling Art competition.” It is amazing. Sam and the students have done a wonderful job of turning what would normally be landfill or pollution, into a great art piece. Transforming waste into art is a great way to “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle”The “Upcycling Art Competition” is about using everyday items we throw away and turning them into fantastic art work. We collected items from around the school that were destined for landfill. These items included boxes and packaging from newly installed interactive whiteboards, an old stool that was broken, old soccer goals that had snapped, old, torn netted sports bags, CD’s that were no longer needed, broken cabling from computer parts, bubble wrap and some old egg cartons that had already been leased a second life in the art room and were now ready to be thrown out. We rescued all of these items and began to work on our art piece. Sam and some of our fabulous artists worked with our recycled objects to make an amazing dragon.
